What is included in long-distance pricing
Our long-distance flat rates are all-inclusive. Here is what every quote covers:
- Dedicated truck — Your belongings ride alone. We do not consolidate shipments with other customers, so there is no risk of delays or damage from shared loads.
- Full crew at both ends — Our movers load at your origin and unload at your destination. We do not hand you off to a local agent at the other end.
- Fuel and tolls — All highway tolls (Mass Pike, I-95 tolls, turnpike fees) and diesel are included in the quote.
- Blanket wrapping — Every piece of furniture is blanket-wrapped and secured with straps. No extra charge for padding.
- Disassembly and reassembly — Bed frames, tables, desks, and shelving units broken down for transport and set back up at destination.
- Basic valuation coverage — Standard $0.60/lb per article coverage included. Full-value protection available at quoting.

How we handle your long-distance move
A long-distance move is more than just driving a truck from point A to point B. Here is how we manage every phase:
- Pre-move inventory — We do a detailed walkthrough (in person or via video call) to catalog every item. This inventory drives your flat-rate quote so there are no surprises.
- Packing day — If you booked our packing service, our crew arrives the day before load day with all materials: boxes, tape, bubble wrap, wardrobe boxes, dish packs, and crating supplies for fragile items.
- Load day — Our team disassembles furniture, wraps every piece in moving blankets, and loads the truck methodically to prevent shifting during transit. We use load bars and ratchet straps throughout.
- Transit — Your belongings travel on a dedicated truck. GPS tracking is available so you can follow your shipment in real time. Our dispatch team monitors weather, traffic, and road conditions.
- Delivery — We unload, place every piece in the designated room, reassemble furniture, and remove all packing debris. You walk through and sign off only when you are satisfied.
Every long-distance job gets a dedicated move coordinator who is your single point of contact from quote to delivery. You will never be transferred between departments or left waiting for a callback.
Frequently asked questions about long-distance costs
How is long-distance pricing different from local?
Local moves are priced by time and crew size. Long-distance moves are priced by weight (or cubic footage), distance, and access at both ends. We always quote flat rates — no weight tickets, no surprises at delivery.
Do you store our stuff during transit?
No. Your belongings go directly from your origin home to your destination. We do not use warehouse relay points or transfer your items between trucks. If you need short-term storage at either end, we offer that as a separate service through our storage program.
Can we ship a car along with the household?
We do not transport vehicles ourselves, but we can coordinate with a licensed auto shipper to have your car picked up and delivered on the same schedule as your household goods. Ask your move coordinator for details.
What about items you cannot move?
Hazardous materials (propane, gasoline, paint thinner, ammunition), perishable food, live plants, and anything illegal to transport across state lines. We will flag these during the quoting process so there are no surprises on move day.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. We ask for a small deposit to reserve your date — typically 10–15% of the total quote. It is fully applied to your final balance. The remainder is due at delivery after you inspect your belongings.
