Moving is hard — downsizing is harder
We understand that a senior move is not just about logistics. It is about decades of memories, a lifetime of belongings, and a transition that is often emotionally difficult. Our senior moving crews are selected for patience, care, and communication — they work at your pace, answer every question, and treat your home with the respect it deserves.
What senior moving includes
- Pre-move consultation — we visit your home (or do a video walkthrough) to understand the scope, discuss what is moving and what is staying, and plan the logistics.
- Sorting and organizing help — our crew can help sort items into keep, donate, and discard categories. We do not rush this process.
- Packing with extra care — fragile items, heirlooms, china sets, and photo collections are individually wrapped and labeled.
- Furniture placement — at your new home, we place furniture exactly where you want it. We will rearrange as many times as needed until it feels right.
- Unpacking and setup — we can unpack boxes, set up beds, reconnect electronics, and hang pictures so your new space feels like home on day one.
- Donation coordination — items you do not want to keep can be picked up by local donation services. We can coordinate with Goodwill, Salvation Army, or local North Shore charities.
Common senior move scenarios
| Scenario | What we handle |
|---|---|
| House to apartment (downsizing) | Sort, pack, move essentials, coordinate donation pickup for remainder |
| Independent living to assisted living | Pack selected items, coordinate with facility staff, set up new room |
| Estate cleanout after a family loss | Sort with family, pack keepsakes, arrange donation or disposal for remainder |
| Snowbird / seasonal relocation | Pack seasonal items, move to storage or second home, reverse in spring |
Why families choose us
Senior moves require a different mindset than a standard apartment or house move. Our crews are trained to slow down, explain what they are doing, and give the client time to make decisions. We never pressure, never rush, and never treat personal belongings as just boxes. Many of our senior clients come to us through referrals from families we have helped before — and we take that trust seriously.
If you are helping a parent or grandparent with a move in the North Shore area, request a free estimate or call our office directly. Brian or our dispatch team can walk you through the options and help plan a timeline that works for your family.
