Moving in Chelsea
Chelsea is compact, densely populated, and just 10 minutes from our Lynn headquarters. The city packs a lot of housing into a small footprint — multi-family homes, walk-up apartments, and newer waterfront developments. Our crew knows the streets, the parking challenges, and the building layouts.
Chelsea move logistics
Most Chelsea housing consists of multi-family homes and walk-up apartment buildings. Staircases are narrow, landings are tight, and front doors open directly onto the sidewalk. We pad every railing and wall corner before we start, lay floor runners on the stairs, and disassemble furniture that will not clear the turns.
Newer buildings near the Chelsea waterfront and along the Silver Line corridor offer elevator access and modern loading facilities. These moves are faster, but we still coordinate COI paperwork and elevator scheduling ahead of time.
Chelsea-specific tips
- Admirals Hill: The Hill has steeper grades and one-way streets. We position the truck at the base and dolly items uphill when driveways are too steep for our vehicle.
- Bellingham Square area: The most congested part of Chelsea. We recommend early morning starts to secure parking before the businesses open.
- Prattville: More residential and slightly less dense than downtown Chelsea. Street access is better, and most homes have usable driveways.
